San Vito School is BILINGUAL

San Vito School offers… bilingual education. San Vito school is BILINGUAL: it provides children the opportunity to learn both ENGLISH and ITALIAN simultaneously and equally.The two languages are spoken in parallel and coexist in the daily school life, for about eighty percent of total time.Children are grouped into three mixed-age classes (3, 4, 5 years old) and are guided in their activities by Italian-speaking teachers and two English teachers with native-level proficiency.

BILINGUISM: A GREAT OPPURTUNITY

Did you know that children’s brains are incredibly flexible and ready to learn multiple languages at the same time without any effort? During childhood, learning two languages (like Italian and English) is a natural process: children can easily distinguish and manage them on a cognitive level.

In our school, this happens through a mix of fun and engaging experiences: stories, songs, rhymes, games, pictures, movies, and lots of interaction with teachers. It’s through these daily moments that language learning becomes a game… and a lifelong resource!

THE ACTIVITIESEvery year various activities are proposed to large or small groups, involving mixed-age or same-age children:*activities belonging to the Annual Learning Plan;*workshops led by internal teachers (gardening, music, cooking, and school readiness);*Psychomotricity workshop led by an external teacher;*Projects managed by internal teachers (e.g. celebrations project and safety project);*Projects involving external organizations, associations, and experts (e.g. the solidarity project and library project)

LA STORIA“S. Stefano” School of San Vito was founded in 1926 thanks to the San Vito Parish community and, until June 2017, was managed by the Sisters of the Congregation of St. Francis de Sales. This congregation, founded in 1740 by Father Domenico Leonati, had the mission of educating the poorest youth. In 2000, the school was granted recognition as a "Parità Scolastica" (which means that it is considered equivalent to a state-accredited private school).Salesian Sisters lived on the upper floor of the school building and continued to collaborate with the school and the parish activities until 2018, when, due to the decreasing number of individuals entering religious life, the congregation motherhouse decided to close San Vito communityAfter the end of school religious administration and in light of the demographic decline that has affected the entire area, San Vito Parish and the Municipality administration worked together to redefine the identity of the school and to revitalize the educational offering.So starting from September 2018, "S. Stefano" Preschool was transformed into a Bilingual School, becoming part of the ACS Network (Schools of Altivole, Caselle and San Vito) .
